Deploying with AWS Elastic Beanstalk

Creating an Elastic Beanstalk Environment

To get started with Elastic Beanstalk, follow these steps to create an environment for your application:

  1. Sign in to the AWS Management Console: Use your AWS account to access the AWS Management Console.
  2. Navigate to Elastic Beanstalk: Find Elastic Beanstalk in the AWS Console, and click “Create New Environment.”
  3. Choose a Platform: Select the platform that matches your application, such as Node.js, Python, Ruby, or others.
  4. Upload Your Application: Upload your application code or specify a source code repository, like AWS CodeCommit or GitHub.
  5. Configure Environment Settings: Set environment-specific configurations, such as instance type, security groups, and environment variables.
  6. Launch the Environment: Confirm your settings and launch the environment. Elastic Beanstalk will handle the provisioning of resources and deployment of your application code.

Deploying Your Application

Once your environment is up and running, it’s time to deploy your application:

  1. Package Your Application: Create a deployable package (ZIP, WAR, JAR, etc.) of your application code.
  2. Upload the Application Version: In the Elastic Beanstalk Console, navigate to your environment and select “Upload and Deploy.” Upload your application version.
  3. Deploy the Application: Confirm the deployment, and Elastic Beanstalk will automatically handle the deployment process.
